The Dallas Cowboys are Looking to Make Frisco the Safest Place to Be an Athlete

Making sure professional (and amateur) athletes stay fit and healthy should be a top priority for any sporting organization. However, accidents will sometimes happen. When they do, it's important athletes have access to the right care to get them healthy once more.
It's with this in mind that the Dallas Cowboys have collaborated with the Baylor Scott & White Health healthcare system and the Frisco Independent School District to open a brand-new 300,000 square-foot medical and sports performance facility - the catchily-named Baylor Scott & White Sports Therapy & Research at The Star.

The new facility is designed to not only help those athletes unfortunate enough to suffer a sports injury with their recovery, but also carry out research into the prevention of these sorts of ailments, as well as giving regular patients access to the sorts of equipment and services usually reserved for elite athletes.
Pioneering Technology
"The goal of this collaboration with the Dallas Cowboys and Frisco ISD is to improve sports safety for athletes of all levels," said CEO of Baylor Scott & White Health, Jim Hinton. "This facility will use technology to help athletes understand, monitor and improve performance, and will offer a comprehensive approach to diagnosis, treatment and recovery."
No brand-new facility such as the Baylor Scott & White Sports Therapy & Research at The Star would be complete without a host of exciting new technology to assist its expert staff in performing their roles.
Fusionetics is an evidence-based platform which is designed to help optimize athletic performance, reduce the incidence of injuries, and shorten recovery times. Based on a mobile app, Fusionetics allows the professionals at the facility to monitor a patient's personalized self-care plan. It offers detailed advice on everything from making sure they have the equipment they need for their routine, to assisting with stretching.
By monitoring outpatients in following their care plan correctly, the staff at the facility can make sure they are becoming more educated about the capabilities of their bodies, and thus reduce the chances of them becoming injured again in the future. This is especially important for adolescent athletes as the changes their bodies are going through can make them more physically awkward and clumsy and therefore more prone to becoming injured.
"It's important that our local student athletes at Frisco ISD have access to the latest technology and most-skilled hands to receive the best training and treatment to perform at the highest possible levels," said Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Jerry Jones, Jr.
Other offerings available at the facility include an urgent care center, a sports concussion center, an imaging center, an outpatient rehab, a surgery center, and a pharmacy - essentially providing a one-stop-shop for any matters relating to sports health.
Merging New Technology with New Facilities
One of the hottest topics in facilities procurement right now revolves around the best ways to incorporate Industry 4.0 technology into organizational structures which may have not been originally designed with them in mind.
The best way to achieve this is to look at modern facilities and investigate the ways in which they use technology to enhance the experiences of the people who use them.
